Qualities of Queensmead
At Queensmead we take huge pride in providing a myriad of experiences and opportunities to ensure that our pupils are able to develop their characters and personal qualities alongside their academic learning.
We are wholly committed and dedicated to ensuring that pupils are inspired to maximise their development as members of both the school and wider community, as well as to understand their responsibilities as national and global citizens both now and into the future.
Our enthusiastic and pro-active approach to developing pupil character and our ethos, underpinned by our achievement of the Silver Rights Respecting School Award supported by UNICEF, is at the heart of our co- curriculum, alongside our Route to Resilience key character words.
We ensure that pupils are able to participate in a range of activities to support their development and understanding of both themselves and their part in their wider community. Our aim is to raise aspirations for future careers and the development of skills for employability alongside self-confidence and belief in themselves.
A clear and effective system for supporting pupils across a range of personal, social and emotional needs as well as developing and supporting their talents and interests is at the heart of our 'Qualities of Queensmead' where moments matter in the best possible start to pupils' education.
Our ground-breaking work on Purple Pounds and Eventerprise has been shared nationally via TV, radio and the national press and we were asked to share this in a round table, cross-party discussion in Parliament as well as addressing audiences at several National Conferences.
